Loan capture arrives at New York...

Steve Evans has moved swiftly to fill the gap left by Bob Harris after he was recalled from his loan period with the Millers by Blackpool manager Ian Holloway.

Joining the Millers on an emergency loan is Blackburn Rovers' 21 year-old defender Josh Morris. The young left back is highly regarded by many at Ewood Park and has already appeared in the Premier League against the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea plus he has represented England at Under 20 level on three occasions.

The player enjoyed a successful five match loan spell with Yeovil Town towards the end of last season and has chosen a loan spell with the Millers in preference to alternatives at League One level so manager Steve Evans is delighted with the signing, he said, ''Young Josh Morris has joined us on an emergency loan which is again initially for one month.

''I am delighted we have secured his signature given the lad had a couple of alternative loan options at a higher level but he wanted to be here after he spoke to both Eric Black and Colin Hendry. Both those guys spoke very highly of Josh to me and also explained what they felt he could bring to the Millers.

''I have seen the lad a number of times and he is the type of player we are always looking for. He is young, has a great desire , is hungry to play first team football and I am delighted to give him that platform. This lad has a great left foot, gets forward to support the front players, is quick and like Bob Harris he defends with pride.

''Speaking of Bob Harris, I would on behalf of everyone at Rotherham United like to thank him for his contribution. We all wish him every success on his return to Blackpool, manager Ian Holloway has a fine young professional who is a pleasure to work with."
