Rotherham United have completed the signing of Emmanuel Ledesma, subject to a medical and Football League ratification.

The 27-year-old joins the Millers on a permanent deal following a successful loan stint with the club last season.

Millers’ boss Steve Evans was thrilled to have finally got his man after the former Middlesbrough winger put pen-to-paper at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

“It goes without saying that I am delighted to bring someone with the ability of Manu back to the Millers,” he enthused to www.themillers.co.uk.

“Every Rotherham United fan will be delighted that this young man has joined us on a permanent basis as they have, like me, watched many outstanding performances when he was on loan with us last season.”

Evans also revealed that the Millers had made numerous attempts to secure the winger’s services last season and was pleased to land Ledesma despite interest from a host of second tier rivals.

“We as a football club tried as hard as we could to convince Manu’s parent club to do a permanent transfer last season but sadly they couldn’t sanction one at the time and it shows our perseverance has paid off.

“I got home with a huge smile on my face having secured Manu’s signature in the knowledge that there was significant interest from some of our rivals in the Championship."
